Study Abroad - Cocle Province, Panama
Hey yall! I have some huge news… I am fundraising for a Study Abroad Trip to Coclé Province, Panama, in South America!!! I am a current Nursing Student at Texas State University and have been given the opportunity to travel with my nursing cohort (on behalf of Global Brigades – a nonprofit health and sustainable development organization) to teach and care for others around the globe from January 5th-14th, 2023! This trip would mean the world to me and expand my cultural awareness and, most importantly, my nursing knowledge! It has always been a dream of mine to travel the world, and with your donation, I’d be able to travel as a nursing student!
Experiences during this Study Abroad trip include patient education, population health assessments, community health diagnosis, and of course, LEARNING!
This program and opportunity aims to learn about global health issues, provide acute care to populations with little healthcare access through a holistic model, experience Panamanian culture, and gain perspective on the global landscape and health inequities.

My nursing group and I would be staying at the “La Iguana Eco Resort” – www.laiguanaresort.com in Coclé Province, Panama. Again, our trip is from January 5th-14th of 2023!
To break down the costs:
- Application Fee: $200
- Passport: $120
- Room & Board: $2,000
- Round-Trip Flight: ~$900 (depending on when I am able to purchase)
Therefore, my goal for this fundraiser is $3,000.
