Students Volunteer in Laos

We are a group of student nurses and as part of our studies we have been given the oppurtunity to provide community healthcare in rural areas of Laos. Healthcare in Laos is of a low standard. Chronic vitamin deficiencies, poor sanitation, several preventable diseases are prevalent; which further erode the health of the population. Many men, women, children, and families suffer daily.
We each have a passion to go abroad to help imrpove these conditions. However, due to our full time study load and the cost of this placement, we have decided to reach out to the go fund me community, for donations to fund some of the assosciated costs. These costs will not only help us to get to Laos, but also help fund the health outreach project that serves approximately 30-40 villages along the river in the Pak Xeng district. On average our team will see 100 – 200 people daily, whereby we will need to provide the necessary equipment and supplies.
Donations, however small, will make an enormous contribution to the health and livelihoods of many unfortunate people and will help us get one step closer to fulfilling our goals of supporting those less privildged then ourselves.
