AMANTES AMENTES.
Two lovers ripped apart by fate would go to Hell and back to see each other again.
Summary
Amantes Amentes, those who love are out of their minds.
Amantes Amentes is a short film about a couple that commits petty crimes together; when a heist goes fatally wrong and Melisse is killed as a result, Tobias turns to make a deal with the devil to bring her back.
Meet the Director
Evangeline Thompson is an aspiring writer for TV and Film. Amantes Amentes is the second short film she has written and directed at Emerson College. Evangeline has spent much of her life road-tripping and moving around the US. This combined with her passion for the horror genre as a whole heavily influenced Amantes Amentes’ unique classical-western-horror aesthetic.
Meet the Producers
Aries Fung (Director of Photography) moved to Boston from his hometown of Hong Kong to pursue a career in entertainment. His short film “But I Made Cake” was screened at several festivals including Toronto Indie Horror Fest (2022) and Boston Indie Fest (2022) and won “Outstanding Production Design for Narrative Film at the EVVYs (2022).
Chrystal Kim is an aspiring Film Producer and current student at Emerson College. They strive to bring light to stories that have gone unheard. Kim has produced various projects such as “Imitation of Art,” “Plus 1s” and Emerson BA film “Heaven and Back” (2023).
Jena Roseman is an aspiring Film Producer, Cinematographer, and (currently) BTS photographer originally from Western Massachusetts. Why Support this Film?
This film is almost entirely student-funded, meaning that our crew (mainly our producers) is responsible for ensuring we have the funding for catering, equipment, transportation, and production design. Since we are located in Boston, MA (which is unfortunately now the second-most expensive city in the United States), catering and transportation are our main concerns in terms of funding. We care deeply about the well-being of our crew since we are all students with other responsibilities and priorities outside of this film. To ensure everyone is best supported, we have estimated that we need at least $1,500 to do so.
What We Need
Budget Breakdown: $5,000
Catering & Crafty: $1,000
Transportation: $1,000
Equipment: $1,000
Production Design:$1,500
Distribution: $500
We are selling merchandise!! We have designed t-shirts, sweaters, and stickers for this film, and these will be shipped out once this campaign has ended. Please keep in mind that shipping may take longer on larger items and will be completed once we receive them from our suppliers.
