I am a current first year student midwife. In our third year we have the oppotunity to partcipitate in an elective placement wherever we want. Me and a couple of univeristy girls have choosen to go to uganda. Uganda is a very low resource country and has one of the worst healthcare records in the world with HIV/AIDS being a major threat to the population of the Ugandans. A Ugandan's health and life expectancy is among the lowest across the globe. In Uganda, one in every 200 births ends in death. I feel like i could make a difference by brining my skills and knowledge to uganda to do what i love doing the most. Not only can i use this exprience to benefit ugandans but also bring my skills, knowledge, exprience and understanding back to the uk to benefit women and their families here.
To raise money for this me and my sister is doing a sponsored walk from preston to blackpool tower which is 18 miles on the 17th of august.
Please help me fundraise towards going for this amazing exprience.
