Stuart Baker Recovery

Stuart Baker is a dear friend and helper for so many in our community.  He has also been a dedicated and talented carpenter for the Center for the past five years, having worked on numerous projects including several roof repairs, the recovery of the Barn post-vandalism, the playground revitalization, the re-construction of the bridge at the beach entrance, the rebuilding of the staircase behind Meher Abode, and many other projects.    Almost all of us who use the Center directly benefit from the efforts he has made.

Stuart has been suffering through a variety of health challenges including hospitalizations and visits to the ER over the past years, yet has continued to work a physically demanding job in order to make ends meet.  Recently Stuart came down with a serious inguinal hernia which is serious enough to require surgery and which prevents him from working at all.  If it is not repaired, it will prevent him from returning to work for the Center.  It will also have serious implications for his earning capacity and will leave him in desperate straits if the problem is not addressed. 

Right now he has no money to afford his rent, food, and other essentials during the few weeks it will take to have the surgery and then recover.  Further he has been unable to work much in the past month since the hernia appeared, which has added more stress to his financial situation.

Stuart's surgeon has assured him that once he recovers from the hernia repair in a few weeks, Stuart will be able to return to his service to the Center and to the many in our community who have come to rely on his skillful assistance and his kindness and generosity.  Please give what your heart prompts and your own finances allow.
