Hi. As some of you may know I (Hannah Gallagher) have been struggling with my health for over 2 years now. While I am finally getting closer to a diagnosis the medical bills are piling up. The doctors believe I have a chronic illness called POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) and possibly other chronic illnesses. My current insurance does not cover much. And I am having to travel 2-3 hours to see multiple specialists. Currently, with appointments and medications we are spending about $1000 per month doing the bare minimum. If we could afford everything that is being suggested we would spend much closer to $2000 a month. I am rarely able to drive and am completely unable to work. My mom is having to take off work to get me to my appointments. With her being our only source of income since my dad passed in 2019, my health journey is causing debt and serious financial strain. We have used all of our savings. The goal is to get a diagnosis so that I can qualify for more assistance to get the treatment that I will need and to be able to live as normal and healthy a life as I am able. Help in any way (financially, better insurance plans, or just your thoughts) is greatly appreciated.
