Struggling DSP

My name is Kyle and I am a 26 year old Direct Support Professional. My job is to take care of, support and enrich the lives of a group of people with various disabilities. I go to their house and cook and clean and have fun with them. I LOVE my job. I look forward to coming to work every single day.

The problem is, DSPs are not very well paid. And the state I live in is among the worst paid in the country. This covid crisis has hit everyone hard.  And even harder for essential workers. Due to the nature of my career, I have to take extra precautions. I am a relatively healthy man, so Covid-19 wouldn't hit me too hard.  But it would be devastating to the people I support.

The Agency I work through is working diligently to make sure it's workers are taken care of to the best of their abilities, but time is running out for me. I have Bills piling up. I have mouths to feed. I can no longer afford to pay everything on time.  I love my place of business and I know it's just a rough patch we are going through but I almost cant afford to work here anymore.

I am seeking as much as I can get but I capped it at three grand because I don't believe I *need* more than that. I am just trying to make Bills work and diapers and food and such until my agency can sort all if their troubles out.

I truly appreciate Any and all donations given at this time. I know this year hasn't really been good to anyone. So it means a lot to me to get anything I can.

Lots of love!
