<div>Out of a desperate need to visit my hometown in Savannah, Georgia after having been away for 8 years and needing to see my brother (who is now safe with a loving family who has guardianship of him; some of you are aware of the story behind that), my family and I went for just under a week in late April of this year. Being away for so long was affecting my mental and emotional health. While I'm so grateful for the time I spent there, I'm now paying for it.

<div>Financially, I shouldn't have gone in the first place. I wasn't in a stable enough position, money-wise, to take such a trip. Now I'm struggling to pay rent and bills and I'm well aware that it's my own fault. I hate it, but I acknowledge and accept it.
