<div>On Thursday morning October 17, Rosa and Rosalie were woken up by the fire, less than an hour after the last staff had left last night's show. We are so grateful that nobody got hurt, all of the residents (including the cat) are mostly just shocked. Our hearts are broken to see every piece of creativity and community that we poured into this place over the last 25 years, turned into ashes.

<div>Many of our group have been severely impacted in their livelihood and housing. Literally decades worth of creative work are gone. Some of us lost everything we have made over the last 5, 10, and even 35 years. In addition, there are countless instruments and equipment used by musicians and artists from all over the city, which are stored in the Stroomhuis. Stroomhuis has been the heart of our community for so many people in Eindhoven and far beyond.

<div>We don't know what the cause of the fire is, and we won't be making any statements about it. Thank you for all the expressions of support and kind messages, they mean a lot to us ❤️. Thanks to these messages, we have even more reason to figure out how to move forward, because we must keep going!

<div>Op donderdagochtend 17 oktober werden Rosa en Rosalie opgeschrikt door het vuur, nog geen uur nadat de laatste medewerkers de show van de vorige avond hadden verlaten. We zijn ontzettend dankbaar dat niemand gewond is geraakt, en dat alle bewoners (inclusief de kat) vooral geschrokken zijn. Onze harten zijn gebroken om te zien hoe alles wat we de afgelopen 25 jaar aan creativiteit en gemeenschap in deze plek hebben gestoken, in as ligt.

<div>Velen van ons zijn zwaar getroffen in hun levensonderhoud en onderkomen. Letterlijk tientallen jaren aan creatief werk zijn verloren gegaan. Sommigen van ons hebben alles verloren wat ze de afgelopen 5, 10 of zelfs 35 jaar hebben gemaakt. Daarnaast zijn er talloze instrumenten en apparatuur die gebruikt worden door muzikanten en artiesten vanuit de hele stad, die opgeslagen liggen in het Stroomhuis. Stroomhuis is voor zoveel mensen in Eindhoven en ver daarbuiten het hart van onze gemeenschap.

<div>We weten niet wat de oorzaak van de brand is en daar gaan we ook geen uitspraken over doen. Dank voor alle steunbetuigingen en lieve berichten, ze doen ons goed ❤. Mede door deze berichten hebben we des te meer reden om te kijken hoe nu verder, want wij moeten door!
