HI Everyone!
On May 4th, my brother Paul was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer that has spread to his liver. After many days in the hospital, he was allowed to come home. His journey is just beginning. This week my brother will begin Chemotherapy to try to shrink and control this horrible disease. We have every reason to believe this is possible, but it takes him out of work during his treatments, which they cannot give us a timeline for.
Paul is an EMT for AMR Ambulance where he has been for about 23 years. He dedicated his life to helping others here and with the Watertown Fire Dept., where he retired a captain after 22 years of service. He has deployed to many disasters while working for this company to help others due to hurricanes and such. He is a very active member at Church Vertical, where he volunteers countless hours. He is a family, friend and mentor to many.
This page is looking for short term help until something more can be arranged by some pretty fabulous people whose lives he has been a part of for many years. It is set up to help him pay the medical expenses and living expenses that will continue to roll in while he is in treatment. The goal is to have his focus on treatment, not worrying about how to pay for medical bills that will accumulate significantly.
Through the years, Paul has dedicated his life to a job only a special person can hold- and for a long time. In 2011 he was awarded EMT of the year and just yesterday he recieved the Humanitarian Award. These are just a few things he has been recognized for. He has dedicated his life to the well being of strangers at the risk of his own life, and has done it willingly. Please consider helping in his time of need.
