I’m raising funds to cover legal fees in the ongoing battle to bring my beloved horse, Chrome, home where he belongs.

Chrome is a dapple grey gelding with a gentle, cautious heart. He was rescued from a difficult past and found safety and healing while boarded at The Barefoot Ranch, a horse rescue and sanctuary in Teulon, Manitoba. We built trust over time — from flinches to friendship, from fear to freedom.

In 2024, Chrome was seized from The Barefoot Ranch without warning and rehomed — with no notice to me, his rightful owner. I was not named in any court order, yet all my ownership records are on file with the Provincial Veterinary Office.

Despite reaching out to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Animal Care Line, and the Ombudsman’s office, I’ve been met only with condolences — not clarity. The case was quashed, but my horse was never returned. I’ve never been given the chance to say goodbye or see him again.

As a proud Red River Métis, I’ve seen efforts made to help families find peace — and now, I’m asking for the same compassion and justice.
