Hello, My name is Brianna Callis and I am raising money for my father to help with medical bills and other expenses.
Two months ago my father was found by my mother at home. She rushed him to the hospital and they explained that he had a stroke. The stroke affected his right side and his speech. In the condition that he was in, they didn't think that he would make it through the night. By the grace of God, he did. The doctors explained that my father had two mini-strokes prior to his massive stroke. They found an infection in his body and it turned out that the infection caused the strokes. They diagnosed him with endocarditis. This is when the infection reaches the heart and eats away the heart valve. He needed surgery on his heart to replace the valve, but before the surgery was performed he had another stroke. The fourth stroke affected his left side. My father survived his fourth stroke and they went on to schedule the heart surgery. While performing an angiogram, they discovered that he had a 90% blockage in his left ventricle. If they did not discover the blockage, he could have had a massive heart attack months later. The doctors completed the valve replacement and bypass surgery successfully.
My dad had 4 strokes and open heart surgery including a valve replacement and a bypass surgery. He is now in rehab and taking it day by day. He is currently relearning things like how to walk and how to write. His attitude is very positive and he constantly reminds us that the Lord has given him a second chance at life. He is giving all the glory to the Lord and always has a smile on his face.
While my dad is recovering, the medical bills from one month in the hospital and his surgery are starting to pile up. I started this GoFundMe to take stress off of my mom. She has been incredible through all of this and I want to be able to give back to her and my dad. I know if it was reversed they would do the same for me. The funds will help with my dad's medical bills and other expenses from the hospital. Please continue to keep my family in your prayers.
