Get Sydney to STIFF!

Here's the gist of it. 

I MADE A MOVIE ABOUT FEMINIST STRIPPERS THAT WAS ACCEPTED INTO A FILM FESTIVAL!

Interested? Ya you are. Because sex sells. And everyone has an opinion about feminism. But no one ever thinks about the two together. This film is provacative and artistic and gets you thinking about the stigma that these women face in society every single day. You know you want to see that (;

If only I could show it to you....

There's one major hang up in making that possible, however.

Music rights are INCREDIBLY expensive.

And I don't have them. Without proof of the rights to the songs in my film, I will have to pull it from STIFF or put myself at risk of being sued by major record labels. 

But I'm a poor post grad and FAR from being able to afford the rights I need to publish my work on my own.

That's where this fundraiser comes in!

My goal is to raise $6000, which would HOPEFULLY be enough to secure the rights, ensure that I can screen "Stripped" at STIFF and get my film out to the world. 

Here's the breakdown. There are 5 songs. I need to get the master rights and the publisher rights for each one. Because I'm a student with no intention of making a profit from this film, I'm hoping to get each right for $500-$600. 

5 x (600 x 2) = 6000

STIFF is in three weeks. 

July 28 - July 31. So, I'm pretty tight for time here. If I can't get this figured out, I'll have to withdraw. Which would suck. 

But this fundraiser wouldn't go to waste! Regardless of whether or not I get to attend STIFF, I absolutely intend to enter festivals in the future. So the rights are still absolutely necessary.

But why should you care?? 

Well, because feminism. And worker's rights. And social justice. And STRIPPERS. 

But if you don't care about any of that (which you should, because you are a human), then I would like to reinforce that this is my passion! Any and all contribution, no matter how little, will be helping me get one step closer to making my professional and artistic dreams a reality. 

I can't stress enough how important this is to me and how much I value the support and encouragement I have received thus far!
