Strike Out Erics Stroke

Donation protected
Eric is a healthy, young, loving, 45 year old single parent. He grew up in Kingwood and settled in Houston in 1997 to be close to family. Having lost both parents in recent years, his supports are his daughter, Faith, his two brothers, Robert and Scott, and step-parents Jon and Marty. Eric enjoys spending time with his daughter, movies, craft beer breweries, and attending Lakewood Church. He’s also an avid blood donor.
On New Year’s Eve, Eric suffered a hemorrhagic stroke while visiting family. Despite immediate hospitalization, Eric has remained in intensive, critical care for twenty days. Doctors have dilligently focused on getting all organs to properly function again. He received a tracheotomy this week to help get closer to independent breathing, and he was transported to a hospital in Spring just yesterday to be closer to home.
The first goal is to get him out of ICU and into his own room. After he can be safely released from the hospital, he will need intensive and extensive rehabilitation. Eric can nod his head and give a thumbs up now, but the extent of the damage from the stroke won’t be known until he begins therapy. Doctors say initial signs are promising, and we’re all praying for a full recovery.
Eric has been faithfully employed with the same company for many years, and he does have health insurance, but he will need a tremendous amount of help to cover co-pays, rehabilitation costs, and getting settled into new, appropriate living quarters.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated as every bit helps. Thank you!
