Stretch Memorial Fund

Glenn Wilson (Stretch) was born in Arizona but spent most of his life here in Colorado. Stretch passed away unexpectedly on June 17th, 2020. He was 57 years old. He left behind his wife Karen, daughter Sabryna, son Casey, and step-son Brent (his wife Savanna and their son Harper). Along with sisters Debra, Cheryl, and brother George. Stretch had an abundance of friends that he loved dearly. He will be missed by all. For those who don't know, Stretch was taken to urgent care in January. There, he was treated for pneumonia along with a broken rib. While looking at the chest x-rays, the doctors and nurses found a very large mass in the upper right lung that was very concerning. We were then redirected to Denver Health Hospital to begin the very long journey of fighting this mass. After meeting with an awesome oncology and general surgeon team, on March 13, Stretch was taken into surgery to have a biopsy done on the mass in his lung. After the results came in, Stretch was diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer. The ultimate goal or game plan was to go through several chemo treatments hoping to shrink the mass, then have surgery to remove the mass along with part of his lung. Stretch made it through several chemo treatments like a champ. Fighting so hard. Unfortunately, due to circumstances and events, Glenn lost the fight in the early morning hours on June 17. He joined his mom Charlotte, father George, nephew Luis, and his dog/ his buddy, Barney. Mom and Dad had made the decision that when they go, they wanted to be donated to science. Stretch was able to give the gift of sight. I would joke because he would always say "I can't see that!" Haha In about 2 to 3 months, Stretch will be cremated and given back to the family. We want to thank each and every person who has reached out to our family. Your kindness means everything! Everything from stopping by to give a hug, to the flowers, to the cards, and to all the phone calls. It all means so much! Words cannot describe what it means to our family. This fundraiser has been set up to help our family get back on our feet as I have had to take time off work and to also have a memorial in Stretch's honor. All friends and family are more than welcome to come! Date, time, and location are still to be determined as we are hoping to have Stretch's ashes back so he can be with us.
