On March 31st, 2018, in the mid afternoon, Rebecca was involved in a car accident in which she broke her back, couldn't feel her legs and was was airlifted to St. Mary's in Rochester, Minnesota where surgery took place late Saturday evening. She broke her back at the T12 vertebrae, and during her surgery they removed the bone splinter out of the spinal cord. The center vertebrae shattered and it tore a small hole in the Durum of her spinal cord causing fluid to leak, and therefore causing permanent paralysis for Rebecca. They placed 2 rods and 12 screws in her back.
In the coming days, Rebecca will be possibly scheduled for an additional surgery where they will go through her side and abdomen to fuse her spine. Due to the damage to her back, they couldn't do this in her first surgery.
Anyone that knows Rebecca, knows that she is a devoted mom, and her babies are her life! For those of you that don't know Rebecca, she is a loving and doting mother to her three beautiful children, ages 12, 3 and 1. She is an amazing person with so much faith in God, and she is now facing the biggest challenge of her life, that will require faith, love and help.
We are asking for any financial support you may be able to provide for Rebecca and her three children. Her world has been turned upside down and although we cannot take away the pain and daily stressors they will be going through, we can take any generous donations to help with her medical and day to day expenses to take care of her three children, now that she will not be able to work.
If you are unable to donate financially, please keep Rebecca and her family in your daily prayers as this road to recovery is just beginning and will be filled with daily struggles.
