Street Epistemology Workshop Tour
I love speaking about and giving workshops on Street Epistemology, and yet the expenses associated with traveling are taking a toll.
There are four atheist and/or skeptic-related events coming up in 2017 and 2018 where organizers have expressed an interest in having me talk about SE and/or teach a hand-on workshop. These are great opportunities to spread the word about this important method, and it would be unfortunate to miss them.
In most all cases, the organizers of these four upcoming events would not allow us to have a presence at their events unless someone experienced with conducting and promoting Street Epistemology (something I have been doing for nearly five years now) was available.
Your donation would allow me to travel to the following four events and conduct hands-on workshops and/or presentations on SE to hundreds, if not thousands, of people. In many cases, these talks will be recorded, widening the message even further.
Normally conferences cover some or all of a speakers' travel expenses. But since I have initiated the process (essentially asking if I could speak and/or conduct a training session), the organizers will likely not offer any compensation.
Without getting too specific (some of these organizers are still finalizing their speaker's schedules), here are the four events that I would likely use your donation towards:
QEDcom in Manchester, England
14th-15th October 2017 (confirmed)
Free-Thinkers Group in Oslo, Norway
February 2018 (not confirmed but likely)
Nones Conference in Nashville, TN
March 2018 (not confirmed but likely)
Large Atheist Event in Oklahoma
March 2018 (not confirmed but likely)
Every single dollar contributed to this fund will be used to cover my travel expenses (airfare and hotel) to and from events where I will promote Street Epistemology. I will pay for other things like food, gas, rental car, Uber/Lyft, parking, etc. that usually come up during these trips.
A link to a public Google Worksheet will be provided so people can see how their donations were used.
