Stray Steve needs our help

About 3 years ago Steve turned up on our doorstep with his eye hanging out. We had no idea who he belonged to he was in a bad way and was in a lot of pain. We asked around. Posted on Facebook groups but nobody claimed him.

We had a senior female cat called Lucy and she didn't like him at all but we persevered to treat him at home. After 3 months and £2000 of our own money we managed to nurse him back to health. The vet mentioned he was around 12 years old. We adopted him and was told he would always roam. We tried to domesticate him as much as possible but Steve just loves to roam. We could not get insurance because of his age/background. He had bladder issues and was told he couldn't be neutered until they cleared up. And even if we did. His roaming habits were so ingrained it's unlikely it would help and he needed his hormones to heal.

We have cared for him numerous times since despite being unable to insure him and recently he went missing for 3 weeks.

This time we assumed he had found a new home and maybe a little old lady was feeding him. He is known in the area as six dinner Steve.

We saw a post on Facebook of Steve in such a bad way we left work and went to collect him not even stopping off at home. Straight to vets4pets where they know him so well.

Steve had a really bad wound to his leg and could barely walk. And an infection and his eye was worse than the first time!

So here we are again but this time with absolutely limited funds. We have both recently started new businesses and have no spare funds. No savings and debt from investing in our new ventures only in the last 9 months.

We are already £2000 in on credit cards and £500 of our own money and there's a lot more to come. We are hoping that people who know me/Steve and our situation would be able to help. I know i would help others and have donated myself to other people's in the past. And now we are in that unfortunate position ourselves...

Strength in numbers. We will use the funds to pay for Steve's vets bills. And any extra we raise will be put into a pot for any further treatment as he is uninsurable xx
