Meet June, an older beagle found in the parking lot of Scottsville Family Dentistry. The amazing staff at the dentist's office took her in from the rain and gave her multiple baths in an effort to get rid of the fleas covering her body. Unfortunately, they were not able to keep her in the office, and that's where we came into June's story.

Our family has taken her to the vet to check for a microchip as well as address her physical condition. No microchip was found, but we did discover that she will likely need a majority of her teeth removed, she has a double ear infection, a horrible cough, anemia from the fleas, and a very advanced hernia. June is likely only around 8 years old and has many more years of life to go. This first vet visit alone cost $488. This allowed us to get imaging done, medication for her cough, flea/tick/heartworm meds, a rabies vaccine, and testing for various other things. The vet also told us that she is very easily stressed and would likely suffer extensively in a shelter environment in her current state.

June will need many more appointments to get her back to her best health and help her enjoy her golden years. The most expensive of these will be the hernia surgery, which the vet said will likely be a couple thousand dollars.

If you could help with these expenses, we would greatly appreciate it. Whether or not she ends up staying with us forever, we want her to be happy and healthy. Everything raised on here will go directly to her medical bills and care.
