My name is Danijela Memic (facebook: Memic Danijela) and for years I’ve been dedicating myself wholeheartedly to helping abandoned, injured, and mistreated dogs and cats – animals left behind by others, but who still carry so much love and life within them.

My mission began during one of the most difficult periods of my life. My daughter became seriously ill and had to undergo major spine surgery. Just fifteen days after leaving the hospital, she suffered a heart attack and pulmonary embolism. She was fighting for her life – and in those dark days, I found comfort and strength… in the animals. As we traveled daily to be with her, we saw so many neglected animals on the road. We started feeding them, and what began as a small gesture soon grew into a calling.

Since then, I’ve helped over 500 dogs find loving homes, thanks in part to a collaboration with a German adoption organization. I currently care for three cats and four dogs myself. Every day is a challenge – fighting poverty, lack of understanding, and limited resources – but I can’t turn my back on these souls.

Still, I don’t know how much longer I can do this alone.
