Hi!
My names Isla, I’m 16 years old at Strathcona and I will be heading to the School of St Jude in Arusha, Tanzania in April this year to volunteer and support the students and school, and would love if, through donating, you could too! ALL proceeds from this go fund me go directly to the non-profit School of St Jude to aid in feeding, educating, housing and supporting the students and school :)
A little goes a long way, the school offers education to those in extreme situations, and has changed the lives of thousands of children. We sometimes forget that the edycation we receive isn’t the same in other countries, nor anywhere near as accessible, so share the love and help out those have the same opportunities as us. Thank you so much!
The School of St. Jude, located in Arusha, Tanzania, is a nonprofit institution dedicated to providing high-quality education to bright but financially disadvantaged students. Founded in 2002, its mission is to offer academic opportunities to children who would otherwise be unable to attend school due to poverty. The school aims to empower students through education, fostering leadership, critical thinking, and a sense of social responsibility. By providing scholarships, the school creates a pathway to brighter futures, not only for its students but also for their families and communities.
A group of us girls from Strathcona Girls School are heading off to Arusha early next year to take part in working with, learning from and supporting children at St Jude, and get to immerse ourselves in the education and lives of students (as well as sharing some of our own!), along with the culture, cooking and landscapes they have to offer. However, it wouldn’t be fair for us to go empty handed, the nonprofit organisation has changed the lives of thousands of children and families but after COVID has taken a hit with prices of essentials and decrease in natural resource trading, and need our help now more than ever. We will be doing various things to raise money for the school and its mission, and hope you can support us and the school in this journey! Even a little goes a long way
