Strathclyde 10k for Homelessness
Strathclyde Mens Hockey Club has chosen to raise money for an amazing charity called Glasgow City Mission. They work with adults and children who are vulnerable and disadvantaged in Glasgow, people that are often leading chaotic or difficult lives. They want to help them to break free from their oppressive situations.
This is exactly what our fundraising efforts can achieve:
For each £100 raised, 100 hot and nourishing meals could be provided to those who are homeless, isolated and in need. Not only that, but by eating together, we can connect people to our daytime help programmes that seek to tackle the underlying issues.
For each £264, someone who is homeless can be fed and supported intensely for a whole year!
For each £495, 20 people can take refuge at the Glasgow Winter Night Shelter and benefit from a warm place to sleep plus connections to healthcare, housing and our city centre project services.
Our aim as a club is to raise at least £528. Enough money to allow two homeless people to be fed and supported for a whole year. Please help us to achieve our Mission.
Thank you.
