Stratford, CT - 2019 Phoenix Season

In January, Stratford's American Shakespeare Festival Theatre burned down. As a town we were heart-broken. However, in the wake of this horrific event, many groups in town are coming together to create 2019's Phoenix Season, Art from the Ashes (September 7th & 8th).
The Town of Stratford in partnership with Stratford Forward is creating an Art+Culture festival. The plan is for three stages: A Main Stage for theater and performance events, a music stage, and a children's stage. There will be art installations, an artisan village, and an unveiling of art made from the iron super structure of the old theatre. Mornings will include yoga and there will be classes throughout both days ranging from dance to stage combat.
In January, budgets for the year were already made. This means we can only start rebuilding with this festival if the public supports it. We'd love to have someone come in a donate big to make it easy. But, the reality is if 5,000 people donated $10, we would have enough to get started. If you've spent time in the Shakespeare Theatre or in the beautiful park where it once stood, you know how special this place really is. Perhaps you would consider making a sizable contribution?
