Straight Out Of Buyobo

Hello Friends, Family and everyone inbetween!

As most of you know, I am currently working for the Women's Microfinance Initiative in Buyobo, Uganda (on the ground we operate as the Buyobo Women's Association).

We are a non-profit and there are some seriously good projects that are happening on the ground and it would be great for these to be bolstered up a bit and there are some that I would like to start, and guess what that means...MONEY :)

Right now it is crazy- there are fires in California, there are police killing innocent people and there is a maniac in the white house. Not to mention it is the holidays so I am sure everybody is spending like crazy as it is!

This campaign will be open for a while and my goal is to hit $20,000 (after the fees and all surcharge that GoFundMe takes).

With that being said, please don't put yourself out, but if you can, anything helps!

If/when you make a donation please indicate where you would like your money to go --if you don't specify at all, please expect a message from me with this menu asking where you would like your money allocated! I will make a note of it and even if we don't get to the full amount it will go towards that cause :)

Here is your menu for helping out the people in Buyobo:

#1) $275 - first tier jumbo borrower

#2) $551- second tier jumbo borrower

#3) $826- third tier jumbo borrower
(our jumbo borrowers, are borrowers who have completed our original program and have proved themselves to successful business woman and because of this have a great track record with paying back their loans.)

#4) $220- buys cow for girls group, this is an income generating activity which will help grow our girls group

#5) $268- one visit from Rain Uganda (they come out twice a year to do screenings for HIV, diabetes, high blood pressure, eye screenings plus giving away glasses, decworming, cervical and breast cancer screenings)

#6) $27- stipend for Sam Sengadine who comes out twice a month to do gender equality and over all empowerment for our Girls Group and Boys Group (the kids and teachers have responded really well to this and love sam)

#7) $14- support the library staff for a month

#8) $496- a week long tailoring program for 10 women (this is including supplies)

#9) $124- supporting the Village Health Team for a quarter

New Projects I am looking to start in 2018:

#10) Collaborating with No Means No Worldwide- an organization that has reduced rape and sexual assault against women in Kenya, this is a problem in Buyobo as well. (not sure of the cost)

#11) Collaborating with StrongMinds to help with depression and mental illnesses in Ugandan women (not sure of the cost)

#12) Shipping for mosquito proof screen out to Entebbe to put on the houses in the village  (not sure of the cost)

Thank you in advance loved ones and if you can please share with your family and friends!

With Love,
Caitlin your neighbor in Uganda
