St. Paul AME Historical Heritage

Donation protected
St. Paul AME, established in 1898, is a church with rich historic value and devoted community outreach service in Bellefonte, PA. In 1998, the members of St. Paul AME Church in Bellefonte, PA voted to raise funds to pay utilities and make much needed repairs to stay in operation. It is now 2015 and this beautiful church has but a few members left since most of the elders have passed away. Thankfully, a few elders are still around showing the younger parishioners the power of their faith, longevity in life and commitment to God.

FIGHT ON, OLD GLORY!!!

Today, in keeping with history, in celebration of the 156th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 by Lincoln, we would like to continue the tradition of community outreach by sponsoring a series of public events while raising funds to remain operational. One major event involves inviting members of the surrounding communities of Bellefonte to fellowship and learn more about St. Paul's fascinating Underground Railroad history while celebrating the church's 40th anniversary. Another event includes a concert honoring the legacy of the Mills Brothers - decendants of St. Paul - through folk, jazz and gospel.

Both fundraising events aim to re-create the days of jubilee in the charming Bellefonte community. Please donate to help St. Paul continue to strengthen its members spirtually and empower its community in observation of the legacy of freedom and abolition.
