STP Mutual Aid Fund

Hey comrades,

Serve The People Akron is a coalition of people from across NE Ohio doing mutual aid work with our unhoused neighbors and other poor, oppressed people in Akron. We run supply distributions every week, where we distribute food, water, hygiene supplies, survival supplies, clothes, bus passes, harm reduction supplies, propane, tents, and more.

We also do regular supply drops once per week to encampments around the city. In total, we serve around 180+ people every week.

We are 100% funded by our own pockets and by small dollar donations from other poor people. Our spending priorities are decided by the people we serve and their needs. No one from the collective takes a paycheck. All of our donations and purchases are accounted for in a transparent excel sheet accessible to the public.

We are non-hierarchical and we are NOT a non-profit organization. We do solidarity work, not charity work. We seek to change the material conditions our communities face. We are anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-fascist,and anti-imperialist because we believe liberation means the dismantling of all systems of oppression.
