Hello,

The Beta Kappa iota Chapter of PTK is doing the Honors in Action Project this year, focusing on Cancer. Helps us help organizations fighting to help those affected by Cancer.

• Project Title: S.P.A.R.K.

 Survivorship: to honor the strength of those who fight cancer.

 Prevention: to emphasize the power of early action.

 Awareness: to educate and inspire communities.

 Research: to support the discovery of better treatments.

 Kindness: to remind us that compassion is essential in every step of the journey.

• Stories that S.P.A.R.K. against Cancer: Tales of Survivorship, Prevention, Awareness, Research, and Kindness against Cancer

There will be many events, workshops, talks, races, and more.

• Main events to highlight

o October 26, 2025 - Marine Corps Marathon – Dr. Tibaquirá will run the race to help raise funds for the project. It will lead to our very own Padrón Campus 5K.

o January 31, 2026 @ 8 AM - Padrón Campus 5K – Flat Lot. Helping promote a healthier lifestyle.

o March 4, 2026, 11 AM – 1 PM – PTK/Student Life Rodeo Festival - Inspiring Action and Innovation – The observance acts as a catalyst for action, from fundraising for research to implementing community health initiatives.
