We CAN make a difference!
Our goal is to give a LOUD VOICE to the people and grow to 10,000 members because politicians pay attention to movements that have momentum on their side. Members of the STOPthe413NOW Facebook group are collaborating to bring awareness to the citizens directly and indirectly affected negatively by the renewed and fast tracked plans for the 413 highway. Our elected officials have (purposely) failed in informing the public, who mostly believe this highway was shelved, or who are simply not aware how far along these plans have progressed by bypassing protocols originally followed in the absence of a pandemic.
Please contribute any amount you are comfortable with - no amount is too small for a worthy cause. We wish to inform, or remind all stakeholders of the devastation this redundant highway will have on our environment and economy. We plan to advertise in local papers, papers spanning the highway route, both in print and digitally. We are continuing with the distribution of print collateral, all designed to direct traffic to our STOPthe413NOW.ca website and Facebook group, where information and action steps are presented. Our ultimate goal is to present to our elected, or would be elected officials the ‘political suicide’ represented by our significant uprising in opposition to this highway, sufficient to stop it in its tracks!
