Another school shooting just happened in Houston! The cycle of violence MUST end and I am committed to taking steps to make a difference. I am raising money to help sponsor a day of anti-bullying and non-violence to Washoe Schools.
Can you help me reach my $5000 goal?
My name is Rachel Lillaney and I am junior at Washoe Schools AACT High School and I am deeply concerned about bullying and violence in our schools. The latest gun shootings in Houston that killed 10 and Florida that killed 17 people is just the latest in a string of violence in our schools and the time is NOW to say we need to do something to stop the cycle of bullying and violence!
I am trying to raise $5000 to bring the nonprofit, Rachel’s Challenge, to Washoe County Schools and I need your help. I have already raised almost $1000 by doing bake sales and other fundraisers but I need your help to raise the rest of the money! Rachel’s Challenge is a nonprofit anti-bullying and violence program which will be life changing for kids struggling with bullying and violence in our schools.
Did you know that according to the National Center for School Engagement 160,000 students skip school every day for fear of being bullied?
Bullying has become more extreme with social media and the violence that comes with it has made life a living nightmare for kids that are bullied in school. All of us knows a kid who has been bullied or we have been bullied ourselves. The nonprofit, Rachel’s Challenge, reports that 71% of kids’ report being bullied at some point.
I am very excited about bringing this program to Washoe County Schools and I am raising 100% of the funds.
