A Patent for "The Bully Band"

UPDATE:

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Molly and The Bully Band. We are excited to share that Molly was awarded 1st place for 7th Grade Inventors at the National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo. Molly has submitted a Provisional Patent to the US Patent and Trademark Office and is hoping to hear a response in the next few weeks. She now has a year to raise enough money to cover the cost of an official Utility Patent. We will be editing this page to reflect a change in her goals. Thank you again for your help reaching her dream!

Fifteen months ago my daughter, Molly, began to complain about a kid picking on her at school.  After months of trying to ignore the bully and then standing up to him, Molly was becoming increasingly frightened to go to school, so we involved school administrators.  The school was helpful, but unfortunately, there wasn't much they could do because the bully denied everything.

Discouraged, Molly decided to figure out a way to protect herself.  She then got to work inventing "The Bully Band."  "The Bully Band" is a wearable device that transmits video and audio to an app made exclusively for school administrators.  "The Bully Band" is meant to record incidents of bullying so that victims are no longer caught in a, "he said, she said" situation with their tormentors.  "The Bully Band," especially when combined with school security cameras, acts as a witness to bullying and harassment that occurs on school property away from the eyes and ears of staff.  "The Bully Band" system repeatedly authenticates itself on school servers, ensuring that it is only recording within school grounds.  It complies with 4th Amendment restrictions in regards to privacy as it is fully controlled by school administrators for the specific purpose of catching bullies in the act of aggression.  With no experience in the field, Molly stayed after school with teachers to learn the coding required for app development and the legal parameters she would need to reflect on when inventing.

Molly has been invited take her invention halfway across the country to pitch "The Bully Band" at the 2018 National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo in Dearborn, Michigan.  If you were interested in helping her reach her fundraising goals for the trip, she would be very grateful.  Any funds above the cost of the trip will be saved for the patent she is currently pursuing to make "The Bully Band" accessible to any kid being victimized by classroom bullies.

Do you have any experience being bullied?  Do you think "The Bully Band" could have helped you?  Please share your experience in the comments.  Molly would love to hear she is not alone and may even share your comments (anonymously) when pitching her invention to businesses.   Thank you so much for your support!
