Coasties, Let's stop this untested 5G rollout now!
OUR STORY
We are Central Coast NSW Australia residents concerned about the rollout of 5G, the next generation of mobile technology in our region, as part of a national plan timed for 2020 (see 5G-Enabling the future economy). It is not just a simple upgrade though. 5G will expose us to harmful and phenomenally high levels of RF-EMF (Electromagnetic Frequency) radiation.
5G will be sold to us as offering enormous data capabilities, practically unrestricted call volumes and near infinite data broadcast. To achieve this by using millimetre wave (MMW), between 30GHz and 300GHz, as well as some lower and mid-range frequencies. Millimeter waves (MMWs) do not travel well through buildings and they tend to be absorbed by rain and plants. This interferes with the signal. Added to this, high-frequency waves like MMWs also have much shorter wavelengths that can’t travel far.
To counter this problem 5G will utilize smaller cell stations and beamforming to redirect packets of data on a no-interference path back to us. This could mean wireless antennas on every lamp post, electricity pole, home and business throughout entire suburbs, towns and cities. Small microwave radiation cells will be placed right outside our homes without permission. Small does not mean small radiation levels, however. Each installation can have thousands of antennas that transmit simultaneously. This technology will also be employed in space with thousands of satellites in space.
According to Martin Pall, Professor Emeritus, Washington University, “Putting in tens of millions of 5G antennae without a single biological test of safety has got to be about the stupidest idea anyone has had in the history of the world.”
Dr Pall is not the only concerned scientist. In fact, there are currently over 83, 000 signatories from at least 168 countries are opposing this technology, including well-known Australian neuro-surgeon Dr Charles Teo, a signatory on another appeal.
WHAT ARE OUR CONCERNS?
In 2011, WHO organisation IARC (International Agency For Research on Cancer) released a paper titled: "IARC Classifies Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans. More than 10,000 peer-reviewed scientific studies demonstrate harm to human health from RF radiation. Effects include:
Alteration of heart rhythm
Altered gene expression
Altered metabolism
Altered stem cell development
Cancers
Cardiovascular disease
Cognitive impairment
DNA damage
Impacts on general well-being
Increased free radicals
Learning and memory deficits
Impaired sperm function and quality
Miscarriage
Neurological damage
Obesity and diabetes
Oxidative stress
Effects in children include autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and asthma.
Evidence also suggests harm to ants, birds, forests, frogs, fruit flies, honey bees, insects, mammals, mice, plants, rats and trees.
- PRIVACY – Our privacy will be invaded by the collection and mining of all our digital data.
- CYBERSECURITY – There are fast growing and devastating cybersecurity risks from the IoT.
- ENVIRONMENT – 5G and the IoT pose a threat to our wildlife, particularly bees, butterflies and other pollinators, and threaten biodiversity.
- ENERGY – Wireless radiation consumes mega amounts more energy than does wired. To produce and run a wireless IoT and its attendant Cloud, will be extraordinarily energy consumptive.
- E-WASTE – There will be an astronomical increase in e-waste generated from morphing all “things” into digital transmitters
- CONFLICT MINERALS – 5G and the IoT will vastly grow our dependence on conflict minerals which have contributed to the death of close to 6 million Congolese people.
- ETHICS – 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) bring with them a host of life-altering ethical questions, issues, and dilemmas.
- DECREASED PROPERTY VALUES
- ECONOMY - Who will pay for the extra infrastructure?

IT CAN BE STOPPED!
In May 2019, Brussels announced it would halt this technology until proper testing has been carried out.
“I cannot welcome such technology if the radiation standards, which must protect the citizen, are not respected, 5G or not. The people of Brussels are not guinea pigs whose health I can sell at a profit. We cannot leave anything to doubt,” declared Brussels Environment Minister Céline Fremault.
- Don't buy 5G smartphone or any other technology related.
CENTRAL COAST and 5G
The Central Coast is a testing ground for 5G. Just this week, it was announced in the Express Advocate, 20 May 2019, that Optus would have 5G active in Niagara Park, a suburb of the Central Coast. We urgently need to print flyers to notify and raise awareness for the local residents around Niagara Park and the surrounding suburbs of Narara and Lisarow.

The goals of our group are:
- To raise awareness of concerns around 5G, the Internet of Things and EMF/RMF radiation to the wider community of the Central Coast NSW.
- To bring about a moratorium on 5G roll-out on the Central Coast. Stop of proposed sites for transmitters 4G, 5G and alternatives.
WHAT WILL WE DO WITH YOU DONATION?
We are a small group of dedicated volunteers devoting our time (I am writing this at midnight). We need to help to get the word out and get Coasties to jump on board to stop this madness.
- Organise '5G awareness events'.
- We are planning to have a '5G awareness events'. Here is a sample of some events we would like to do:
1, Who are the Stakeholders in 5G? Who is doing all this? Telcos, ARPANSA, etc.
2. The science behind 5G: - EMF radiation, 5G technology, What does the terminology mean? E.g. what are gigahertz, Fibre: alternative to wireless
3. Legal and medical advice for personal actions - Showing videos of Raymond Broomhall, Dr Cooper or in person
4. Health hazards around 5G
5. Personal EMF protection methods: local natural practitioners, building biologists, shielding technology, hempcrete, EMF meters
6. Movie nights: 'Generation Zapped', 'Beings of resonance'
7. 5G impossible: data surveillance, artificial intelligence
8. Wifi in Schools
9. Connecting the dots: - Dr Graham Downing lecture, - Talk about the Australian aspect
10. 5G and the environment: Tree felling: Bees, Birds, Plants
- Stands at local festivals and events.
- So we need help with getting good quality speakers, hiring venues,
- getting merchandising made (stickers, t-shirts, posters, flyers, etc).
- We may need legal help to fight this.
With a possibility of presenting a petition to parliament. It will take time but I do not want this for my children, for my family, for my beautiful Central Coast, Australia or the planet.
