Do you want to stop the London DSEI arms fair?
Defence and Security Exhibition International (DSEI) is a trade show event for the arms industry. The four day event provides an opportunity for more than 1,500 companies to display their products and services to 30,000 visitors from around the world, many from military delegations, police and security departments, and private security companies. Some of the world’s biggest arms companies exhibit at DSEI, including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, BAE Systems, Boeing, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Thales, and L3 Technologies. Equipment sold by companies present at DSEI have been used heavily by authoritarian regimes across the world, from Bahrain to Venezuela. It is often marketed as “non lethal” or “less lethal”, ignoring the fact that such weapons can and do kill and seriously injure, and that they are often used to quell legitimate dissent and protest.
Roots of Resistance is a grassroots network of Quakers across the UK who are building a creative, vibrant and radical Quaker response to the DSEI (Defence and Security Equipment International) arms fair.

Roots of Resistance began after the 2017 DSEI arms fair, and has been organising ever since, trying to mobilise 1000 Quakers to attend the No Faith in War day of the Stop The Arms Fair protests on Tues 3rd September 2019. We are raising funds to enable us to help the Stop The Arms Fair protests, so that this year we can shut down DSEI, to stop weapons being sold to tyrants! Any funds raised will go to helping people who need financial support with travel and/or accommodation in order to attend the protests, and on outreach, publicising the protests.
We are incredibly grateful for any support you feel you are able to give!
