Hunger and homelessness are two pandemics entirely on their own. The number of homeless affected in the greater San Jose/Campbell area is changing rapidly, so much so that the even recently recorded number have become too inaccurate to share. Working with organizations like HomeFirst, Loaves & Fishes, Martha’s Kitchen, Salvation Army, and StandUP for Kids gave us an eye-opening view about the circumstances homeless youth and adults are facing right in our backyards. These five organizations are donation based, meaning they thrive on the generosity of the community around them. We are committed to continuing to help these five, and hopefully so many more.
“Stop the Hunger 2020” was only the beginning for Grill Em Steakhouse. We recognize the struggle our community faces, and have pledged to help all year long. Our donation drive “Stop the Hunger 2021” is open to donations 24/7, 365, so that we may have the chance to cook for and feed people again, with a skyrocketed goal of 2500 meals.
