Stop the Freeway Golf Course Warehouses

Donation protected
The Gloucester Township Zoning Board is scheduled to hear a petition for the re-zoning/variance of the current zoning of the former 155-acre Freeway Golf Course from residential ("R-1") to rezone or permit a zoning variance (known as a "D" variance). This would allow the construction of multiple warehouses up to 50 feet in height, covering over 1.4 million square feet of storage space and more than 50% of the available acreage on the site. This site is adjacent to primarily residential properties, as well as to the notoriously congested Sicklerville Road. With warehouses come tractor trailers and delivery trucks 24 hours per day, bright lights at night, and an increase in the already overcrowded traffic pattern on Sicklerville Road. Sicklerville Rd cannot handle the increase in traffic. There would also be additional noise, air, and stormwater pollution in our community and a decrease in surrounding property values. Gloucester Township has preserved less than five percent of its geographic space as open space. The group No Warehouses in Erial has retained the services of a well-respected zoning and planning attorney to represent the residents in our efforts to stop this re-zoning/zoning variance application. The Township postponed the meeting to consider this application twice, and it is now scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. We are trying to raise money to cover the retainer and additional costs associated with hiring the attorney. This is a group grassroots effort, and your support is both needed and appreciated. Please consider making even a small donation to help cover these costs. Time is of the essence, as we have less than two weeks to prepare. Complete financial accounting and transparency will be provided to anyone who donates. Thank you for your support.
