Friends of Lancaster for Responsible Development
The Friends of Lancaster for Responsible Development Inc. (FLRDI) is happy to support the Lancaster community in raising money to conserve undeveloped land when possible and to fund needed subject matter experts to ensure that projects presented to the Town have the additional reviews, expert opinions and reports needed to make decisions in the best interest of Lancaster.
Incorporated in September 2019, FLRDI was established to raise awareness about issues related to both residential and commercial development in the local community. FLRDI is committed to engaging in the following activities:
1) Developing strong partnerships with federal, state and town governing bodies and agencies to ensure the best interests of the citizens and businesses of the Town of Lancaster, MA are represented
2) Advocating that appropriate consideration of the zoning, environmental, health and safety impact of any proposed development is sufficiently addressed
3) Encouraging and supporting efforts to increase public awareness about the value of land conservation for the Town of Lancaster, MA
4) Promoting active citizen participation in town meetings and public hearings to engage local residents in the decision-making process
5) Encouraging legislation and bylaws that will preserve the character of the Town of Lancaster, MA.
The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes as specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
