STOP RUSSIAN OCCUPATION IN GEORGIA

A non-governmental organization “Strength is in unity” was created on July 5th 2017. The author of the idea and the leader of the organization is David Katsarava. People united in the group represent different political views and come from variety of professional backgrounds. From July 2017, our monitoring group monitors the occupation line with special equipment and takes notes of any activity from Russian occupants. Without any donor or state support based only on crowdfunding of supporters about 50 people rotate on field mission every single day since July 24, 2017.
By 18th month of permanent patrolling and informational campaigning de-occupation movement reached its critical point when stopped Russian militaries installing new border in the middle of Georgian village Atotsi. It could be mentioned that this is a unique case when unarmed civil activists terminated Russian occupation progress.
The group recognizes that they may not influence Russian army movement or Georgian government policy, and aims to keep occupation on top of media and public interest, to make more citizens aware of that never-ending danger. Power in Unity and David Katsarava in person made Archil Tatunashvili (detained and brutally killed by Russians February 23, 2018) case known to public and international society.
