Brighton Woman Facing Deportation by Home Office

My name is Nick. I am a PR Consultant from Brighton, UK. This Go Fund Me page is on behalf of my wife Narine (pictured) who is struggling to understand (as are we both) a bizarre Home Office Immigration decision.

Narine is from Armenia (think Kim Kardashian!) We met and married just over 3 years ago. We got married in Yerevan, which is the capital of Armenia, and she came to the UK legally as my spouse.

Narine has been living and working in this country thanks to her Residence Permit (issued by the Home Office) for more than 3 years. We are a family.

In March, Narine was due to extend her stay in the UK by making a visa extension application. A fairly normal process. However, largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic my wife and I found ourselves in an inextricable situation. One that bought us into conflict with the Home Office Immigration Department.

You may not be aware of this unless you have undergone it yourself, but the visa application charges in the UK are astronomical. So high in fact that we found ourselves unable to afford the visa fees after Covid-19 negatively impacted our jobs and our lives.

As a result, Narine's application to extend her Leave to Remain (which was due in March) was REFUSED. What this means, is that unless a solution can be found she will have to leave the UK.

Effectively I am faced with an almost impossible task to raise the money and appeal a decision that frankly, should not have been made in the first place. If we appeal there is a strong possibility she will lose her job. If we don't appeal I will lose my wife.

My only other option is to raise the money and re-submit Narine's application. Having looked at all my other options carefully, this way is the best.

The amount that we are asking for is £2939. The breakdown of the visa application costs is as follows…

* Resubmit FLR application £1033
* Expedite the application process £800
* National Health surcharge £1000
* English language (life in Britain) test £50
* Biometric Residence Permit £56

Our story is too long and complicated to fit on a single Go Fund Me page. I have set up a separate web page (which you are welcome to view) which explains in full how we came to be in this situation. The page is completely ad-free, there are no other distractions. It is just a page that tells our story.

It goes without saying that any assistance would mean the world to us both, though we are perfectly aware that there are other people with equally pressing problems.

I do not have much to offer anyone who is motivated to give assistance. All I have is the ability to tell your story. What this may mean to you and how I may be able to do this I do not know. What I do know is that everybody has a story. This is mine. Mine and Narine's.

Are you sympathetic to Narine's plight? Would you like to understand more about Narine & Nick's battle with the Home Office? Read their full story here...
