<div>SLFLA.ORG stands for the Student Loan Fairness in Lending Act of 2025. The Bill can be read on our website at: SLFLA.ORG. This group was organized to get a BILL passed in the U.S. Congress to stop the predatory, vile, deceptive people on Wall Street from enslaving the youth of America (and their parents as co-signers) with high-interest, long-term student loans. Loan rates used to be 2-3%. The average rate today on a school loan is 6.87% but goes as high as 18% with many private lenders and to 20% if payments are missed. With rates this high on tens of thousands of dollars, compounding over 20 to 30 years, many people spend the rest of their lives trying to pay these loans off. It can make their lives a living hell, filled with unnecessary worry, stress, and depression ~ just so these heartless people on Wall Street can make more money. What is happening today has been thought out in board rooms for years with malice aforethought. What they are doing is CRIMINAL ~ a conspiracy to defraud both the youth of our nation and their parents. It is GRAND THEFT ON A MASSIVE SCALE. We want to stop it ~ but we need YOUR HELP to do it!!!

Please read the bill on our website (the link to our website here: SLFLA.ORG) then send a copy to your elected Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives and to each of your U.S. Senators. Feel free to send it to your state reps also. Below are the links to both the House and Senate where you can find who your reps/senators are and their contact info including phone numbers. We can't do it online because we don't live in their districts. We are asking you to call their state or D.C. offices, then send it in a message via email that you can get from the assistant when you call, if they don’t already have a copy. We want you to then ask each of them to <strong>sponsor and pass the bill</strong> so it can become the LAW OF THE LAND. But understand that in many cases, these members of Congress are the ones who voted to make the laws the way they are now, (and they are being paid to keep them the way they are) so we need a lot of people calling and sending emails.

<div>Over the past 20 years, Wall Street funds such as Blackstone, which is the largest owner of student housing in the country, have bought up most of the student housing and have tripled and quadrupled those rents. The Boards of Regents in every state and the Administrators at our colleges have been convinced (most likely bribed) to raise college tuition by circa 5% a year for the past 20. Those costs are now 10 to 20 times higher. What used to cost $2,000 to $3,000 a year for tuition, books, and living expenses now costs tens of thousands of dollars.

<div>What's even more sickening is when these young hopeful kids go to these colleges to register for school, they are taken into back rooms and encouraged to take out tens of thousands in student loans by representatives of these lenders without having any idea what they are getting themselves into, or what it will mean for the rest of their lives.
