Stop lies in political advertising

With the prospect of a second referendum or snap general election in 2019 it is urgent that political advertising is reformed.
Shockingly, political advertisers are currently free to make wild and unsubstantiated claims. This is because, unlike ‘normal’ advertising, political campaign material in the UK is not regulated.
Dishonest political advertising is damaging our democracy and it’s time to demand change.
We're raising money for an advertising campaign to do two things
(1) To raise awareness of the urgent need for change
(2)To advocate for legislative change through driving signatures through to change.org.
So far our advertising campaign has relied on spare ad space generously donated from some media owners, but to get the petition in front of a critical mass of people we need a campaign war chest.
The petition’s aim is to demonstrate the public’s appetite for change to politicians. Without petition signatures politicians won't believe there's any interest in reform, so it's a really important factor in us achieving change and we’d love your help to do that!
We want to ensure we maximise coverage ahead of the government’s response to the Disinformation and Fake News Inquiry which is due in early 2019.
Using our initial ad burst as a guide, we’ve worked out that to keep our message in front of MPs during this period we need to raise £20,000. We calculate that this should also get us to 80K signatures on our petition.
Your money will only be spent on raising awareness of the campaign and driving signatures of the petition.
Nobody at the Coalition takes a salary or claims expenses. We will share our receipts on what we’ve spent at the end of the campaign with those that have donated.
