Hello! My name is Estefania. I am a breast cancer survivor, and I wear my scars with pride! In December 2022, I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer. On January 27, I started my first round of chemotherapy. I remember because it was the day before my baby girl's 2nd birthday. Later, I was informed that I was a BRCA carrier.

I went from being at my healthiest weight and fitness to being unable to go up my stairs.

I worked full time with a team of incredible educators to not working so I could make it to the endless blood work, chemotherapy, radiation, physical therapy, cardiologist, radiologist, etc., etc., etc.

In my journey, the only part of me that I did not lose was being mami. Even then, I felt like I was failing. I couldn't carry my baby girl or go down the slide with my son. My babies became the best doctors, waiters, and guardians, because I was too weak to play with them. I felt so guilty as a parent...

In my healing journey, I found PICKLES Group. As a PICKLES Group volunteer, I felt belonging, understanding, and healing. The children from PICKLES Group have a safe space to share, and in that journey I began to heal as a parent because my babies are resilient. https://www.picklesgroup.org/

3.5 years later, I am a resilient single full-time working parent, raising my two beautiful children. I am slowly regaining my strength with the incredible support and community of Strive Fitness (Shawn, Victoria, Lisa, Jesus, Maul, Team Lion Lyons, and everyone at Strive) have been a lifeline in my journey.

On October 3rd, I hope you can join me to Stomp Out Cancer, One Step at a time, with a 5K ruck in support of PICKLES Group. Strive Fitness will donate 100% of the money raised for PICKLES Group.

Even today, as a BRCA carrier, I am at a 39-58% chance of ovarian cancer. I pray every day that I continue to be cancer free, but if I am once again diagnosed, I know my Nicolas and Natalia have a place with PICKLES Group. I ask for your kind support toward an amazing organization that is strengthening our children. Share this. Bring someone. And most importantly, show up!
