UPDATED CAMPAIGN: The Goal has Changed to $1,700
16 year Miracle Stomach Cancer Survivor Millie McConnell is running out of time to collect enough GoFundMe pledges to get implants for her teeth which have entirely rotted away due to years of usage after her Chemotherapy from her Gastro Cancer.
Her teeth are cracking, breaking and falling out to the point where she can barely eat. But sadly there is no Tooth Fairy visiting Millie’s house. When you sit at home isolated all day mentoring people dying of Stage 3 and Stage 4 Gastro Cancer you don’t have a lot of contacts with extra funds to donate when you’re in need of support yourself.
A couple of dentists wouldn’t even touch Millie’s teeth because they were too fragile. Finally she located a dental surgeon willing to give her full extractions and because of her hardship case they’re only going to do the dentures they’re not going to add in the implants in the lower jaw, and will give her a discount on Dentures. So she won’t need as much money as the implants, but she needs the Dentures ASAP, and has no way to pay for them, or for any of the previous dental work she’s had done to this point.
Millie is grateful for all the support she’s had thus far and she still hasn't given up hope that after all she's done for the Gastric Community that people who are supporting relatives and friends with Stomach Cancer will hopefully reach out and make a donation to her Go Fund Me Page. And maybe a special person, organization or sponsor will come forward
and help cover the costs of Dental Implants down the road.
The preference for implants is simply due to the difficulty she'll have handling the dentures due to her Extreme Essential Hand Tremors caused by a Neurological Disorder and the constant worry that she will break them by continuing to drop them.
The new Go Fund Me Goal is $1,700 which would cover the costs of her dentures, travel and parking costs to and from the dental office and hospital, expensive medications, special foods (as she’ll have no teeth for 4-months) and to cover some of the dental costs to date.
Millie is in complete hardship and all she does with her time is help individual Stomach Cancer patients from all around the globe, assist different Cancer Organizations like My Gut Feeling, Debbie’s Dream Foundation, where she
is the Honorary Canadian Ambassador, and is the Cancer Advocate at Langley’s monthly Pain Self-Management Educational Support Group.
If you have someone in your life with any Gastric Issues, chances are Millie or someone like her has probably helped them, so please find a place in your heart to help Millie.
