Elmer and Barbie Ann Stoltzfus…Stoltzfus Farms, Central Market, Lancaster, PA

I, Scott, spent part of the 1st 50 years of my life at Central Market (Oldest Farmers Market in the United States) at the family-owned produce stand that had been there over 100 years.  When the family was ready to sell the business, we sold it to Stoltzfus Farms.

Elmer, a local PA Dutch Amish man, started working at the Stoner farm when he was 10 years old and continued to work there for 15+ years.  A few years after he married Barbie Ann, they purchased the Central Market business/stand from the Stoner’s and started Stoltzfus Farms in January of 2019.

The impact of the Corona Virus has extended far beyond those infected by the virus.  As the crisis grows, so do the negative effects on peoples’ livelihood and financial wellbeing, but we can all do our part to help those affected.

Elmer and Barbie Ann, like millions of other businesses, are struggling to pay the bills, make ends meet, and keep afloat…or lose the business and income they have.  So, today is the day to give!

They, because of personal beliefs (being Amish), do not want to take any government loans, any stimulus money, and unfortunately, the stand holders of Central Market do not qualify for the upcoming grants in Lancaster’s business district.

I know many of you don’t know Elmer and Barbie Ann, but trust me, you will not meet a sweeter, more giving, and hardworking couple than them.  They are sacrificing to keep things afloat and would never ask for any financial help, which is why, with your help, I would love to bless them with a gift to catch up on bills, put food on there table, and keep things going…with no end in sight to the shutdowns.

Many of you supported me and the people of Kalawa, Kenya a few summers ago and I was blown away by your generosity.  I would be eternally grateful if you could give a gift, no matter how small, to Elmer and Barbie Ann.  They mean so much to me and hold a special place in my heart!

I know we all have many places to give during this time, so your kindness and consideration to give to Elmer and Barbie is greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much!
Scott

PS.  I know pictures are worth 1,000 word, and I so wanted to have a picture of them for this fundraiser, but at their request (because of religious reasons), I cannot post a picture of them.
