Stolen Search and Rescue Harness

Moxxii and Angela have been a partners in the Search and Rescue community for 7 years. Moxxii is a 8 year old Shepherd with a high drive and love for the work she does. When Angela first got Moxxii as a puppy she was this naughty dog that wanted to go go go and had nothing to do as her drive was larger then Angela had thought it would be. At a little shy of her first birthday Angela met a women who introduced her to Search and Rescue. They started off with tracking and soon moved onto Human Remains when they were introduced to it at a course about a year and a half later, Moxxii loved it. 

Moxxii and Angela have been deployed several times through out British Columbia and are apart of the Canadian Goverments Urban Search and Rescue team as one of the few civil dog teams. Angela is also the head training for Search and Rescue Dog Assosiaction of Victoria which was founded in 2014 by her and a few other members. Angela is also apart of Esquimalt Social Services and was up last summer volunteering in the wildfires in British Columbia. 

Angela and her team volunteer their time at events around the city one of them being Petapalooza Victoria. 

Last night August 19th someone had gone into the teams tent at Petapalooza Victoria and stolen Moxxii’s tactical work harness and few other items. 

This harness has saved Moxxii’s life many times on deployments wheather it was hailing her out from underneath a log jam or having to lift her over obsticals that were in the teams search area. This harness did it all. When Moxxii wears her harness she gets the biggest smile on her face and knows it’s time to go work. 

We are asking that people donate what ever they can to replace this vital piece of work equipment as there are many more deployments the team is atticipating in the next few months. Angela needs to know that her dog is going to be in proper equipment that will save her dogs life when they go out and that her and her dog will be coming home safe at the end of the day.
