Stolen and destroyed car & sudden loss of brother

Donation protected
Seeking to ease the burden on Lu Townsend after the theft of her car back in June of this year, Lu is a dedicated mother and grand mother that works 50+ hours a week to make a living. In her free time, she is dedicated to serving the community and helping others in need. She has been an admin in the Southwest Washington Emergency Service Alerts group for some several years and has always been a value to the group and the community.

In June the vehicle was loaned to someone else for a short period of time but the people involved took the car and never returned it. She filed a police report for the stolen vehicle and they assigned it a case number however insurance would not cover the car since it was technically loaned out to someone and not stolen even though it was never returned. Lu was then faced with making payments on the car she no longer had and trying to figure out what to do with everything, to this day she has maintained insurance on the car in hopes that it would return to her at some point.

On October 3rd the vehicle was impounded in Goldendale, Washington with extensive damage and a complete mess of in the car belonging to the people that stole the vehicle. On October 5th Lu received a letter from the impound yard informing her that they had her car, Lu was in shock and happy to hear that her car had finally been recovered she called the tow yard and was informed that those that were in possession of the car went to the tow yard and attempted to gain access to the vehicle claiming it was theirs, but they were denied.

Lu is currently trying to figure out how to get the vehicle out of impound and back down to Vancouver, on top of those stresses comes several hundred dollars in impound and towing fees plus transport fees to get the car down here. The vehicle is in need of many repairs and I would imaging a very good detailing as I imagine it is far from sanitary.

At this point insurance is not covering any of the damages and/or the impound/transport fees leaving Lu stuck with a tremendous burden and stress and a destroyed vehicle that can't be driven but is still being paid for.

Lu has done so much for our community helping those in need I ask our community to return the favor to her.
