My camera equipment was stolen

I cannot believe this happened. After 6 months of saving to afford something I have been in desperate need of to get ahead in my career, it was stripped away in seconds. I had purchased my equipment (in total 7000$+) which completely emptied my account only 2 days ago. I had risked everything for the equipment as an investment to my work and career but only had a chance to use it once only a few hours before it was stripped from me. I had it in a camera bag and LOCKED in my friends car on the floor. We had went out for a few drinks and came back to a shattered window and everything (inc my camera bag) gone!
The cops filed a report but im certain nothing will be retrieved and because it wasnt in my home and my friend does not have full coverage on his car, the items are not covered by insurance. I am absolutely devasted that people can be this thoughtless and have no care for the position they put someone in outof selfishness and greed. I leave for a trip to Mexico In 2 days and now dont have a camera to document this, and now will need to try and recoop this money to purchase the equipment again all while I was suppose to be trying to save for my security deposit on new place and furnishing it, which now wont be happening.
I HATE to ask for anything from anyone, but im trying to see it from the point of view that I love being able to help people and I am hoping someone may feel the same way. ANY fonation will mean the world from me and it takes 20seconds to do. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for whatever you can spare.
