The team behind the Intermission Virtual Festival of the Arts is back!
After the great turnout from our festival back in June, we wanted to press on and see what else we could do in order to keep our creativity up. We are now working on our latest project, which will be a virtual performance of the play Stockwell by Kieron Barry.
PERFORMANCE DATES: September 12th & 13th
DESCRIPTION: On July 7th 2005 a group of terrorists committed a series of suicide bombings on the public transport of London. These attacks ended in the death of 56 people and left many more injured and full of fear.
London’s Met police were tasked with the prevention of any further terrorist activity on the citizens of London. On the 22nd of July a task force of police and special agents headed by, current Met Police Commissioner, Cressida Dick was launched as an anti-terrorism unit. This task force ended up being in complete disarray with a multitude of miscommunication and incorrect actions resulting in the misidentification of a terrorist threat leading to this innocent man, Jean Charles De Menezes, being killed while on a public train.
Stockwell follows the inquisition into the Met police department following their killing of De Menezes, to determine whether or not the Police force tasked with protecting him was at legal fault for his resulting death.
HOW TO WATCH: Individuals that wish to see Stockwell need only donate what they wish (minimum of $5) and they will receive an invitation at a later date which will grant them access to the performance.
