This Is About

Twenty years ago, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Lower Ninth Ward — the heart of New Orleans' soul. This project, Still Boiling, is a tribute to the voices, recipes, resilience, and forgotten lives of those who endured the storm after the headlines faded.

We’re creating a documentary + community event that brings our people’s stories back to the front. Through interviews, a meal, a commemorative cookbook, and a powerful film screening, we honor the strength of a neighborhood that never stopped boiling.

Today, I use my voice, my creativity, and my cooking to reclaim our stories. I’m not just making a documentary. I’m building a living archive — a tribute to the resilience, recipes, and real people who have kept boiling even after being left behind.

This is my heartwork. And this is how I serve the people and place that raised me.
