The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program will allow 4th-8th grade students to be involved in the process of creating zero-gravity experiments. 4th grade will be involved with research, while 5th-8th grade will use experimental design in small groups in order to construct an investigation . One experiment from each school will be chosen to be sent to the International Space Station where astronauts will conduct research for the students. All data will be sent back to the lab group, and they will have the opportunity to present their research at a conference in Washington DC. This is an incredible opportunity for our students to be a part of real science research!
Of course with any incredible science program such as this, there is a cost. In order to be a part of this program we will have to raise $19,000. If we raise $12,000, we can still be a part of the program, but only 1 flight experiment would be chosen from our St. Monica/St. Fabian duo. The extra $7000 ensures that our school will have an experiment that will be sent to the ISS.
We are reaching out to you to get information about this program out in the community! Information is posted on St. Fabian's Facebook and website to ask for funding.
Thank you for your support! We are very excited for this opportunity!
