Stevie Skaats

As many of you know, my sister and brother-in-law welcomed their son, my godson, Stevie to the world on June 4, 2017. Unexpectedly, Stevie was born with a very rare debilitating genetic disease. Just about three weeks ago Ann and Steve were finally able to bring Stevie home after 150 days in the hospital only to prepare for a trip to another hospital in a few weeks.

Ann has opened up their lives to us and shares the good, the bad, and the ugly with each of us on a daily basis. What an incredible journey we have all shared. It is so exciting to finally see Stevie in his darling whale room, in his own home!

Well, along with Stevie came a host of medical equipment for breathing and eating as well as the requirement for in-home care by a registered nurse for 20 hours per day! Ann had to stop working to keep up with Stevie's care and coordination of an upcoming medical stay in Canada. While there is insurance, the expenses are undoubtedly piling up.

I was wondering with the strength and support garnered from all their family and friends, we can pitch in to help out financially. No one will judge how much, how little or even if you are able to donate. Donations can even be anonymous if preferred.  Everyone has their own issues, I was hoping together, we can make Ann, Steve, and Stevie’s a little easier. If you know anyone else who would like to help out, please share this link.

Lovingly, April -- Ann's sis!
