Stevi Gire Memorial Scholarship Fund

On Feb 8th we lost our beloved pirate nurse Stevi Gire. Stevi was a highly skilled and caring nurse educator who was passionate about teaching and infused humor into everything she did. She was also an avid motorcyclist, snowboarder, runner, and hiker. She loved animals and camping, which she did in her converted van. She always had a special place in her heart for those “misfits” who live life on the fringe, on their own terms. They were her kindred spirits.
Stevi’s unique sense of humor was her gift to us all. Whether you were her co-worker, student or patient her ease of laughter drew you in and held you in the moment. She believed that life and learning are easier when you are laughing. “If I can make life a little easier by helping people laugh then that’s what I will do, even if they are laughing at me”. Her pranks, random paraphernalia, and easy laughter are the memories that will last forever and be carried forward in her honor.
As the community reflects on the fearless life she lived and the countless lives she touched, we would like to honor the memory of Stevi by establishing The Stevi Gire Memorial Scholarship. These funds will be used for individuals pursuing a career in nursing.

We are happy to announce that the Stevi Gire Memorial Scholarship Fund will now be moved into the Stevi Gire Memorial Scholarship Endowment. Through the generous donations from Stevi's friends and family, the endowment will provide support, in the form of a $1000 scholarship, for one nursing student every year. We can't thank you enough for making this happen. We know Stevi would be overwhelmed with the kindness and support shown by her family and friends.
